Education
Physical Education and Extracurricular activities at Bachman Academy are structured to enhance and encourage each student’s growth physically, mentally, and socially. Physical Education is the study and exploration of the concepts and principles of human movement. This includes development of motor skills, perceptual skills, coordination, strength, stamina, fitness, recreational pursuits, prevention of injury and the promotion of wellness and
health.

As stated in the “Moving into the future National Standards for Physical Education” a physically educated
person:
- Has learned skills necessary to perform a variety of physical
activities
- Is physically
fit
- Does participate regularly in physical activity
- Knows the implications of and the benefits from involvement in physical activities.
- Values physical activity and
it's contribution to a healthful life style
The general program objective of Physical Education and all extracurricular activities include enabling students to understand the development of their bodies, enjoy sports as a participant, spectator, or referee, develop and maintain good physical and mental health, maintain a high level of fitness, stamina and strength, use leisure time in healthy recreational pursuits, plan careers associated with the discipline of Physical Education, and foster a positive self-image.
