Our
Mission
It is the mission of the counseling services at BA to facilitate and support the spiritual, emotional and social growth of our
students. This is done through scheduled individual sessions and group sessions as well as meeting with students as needed to assist in the resolution of immediate
needs.
Spiritual growth is encouraged, among other ways, by discussing the student’s view of God—who He is, what He wants for us and how He works on our behalf. This area of knowledge is not overlooked since one’s understanding of God will affect other aspects of life. In fact, a better understanding of God will be a catalyst to emotional growth. By developing a healthy understanding God, through the study of life principles, students are brought to know themselves more honestly and fully. In turn, students increase maturity and balance in their social relationships in the areas of reliability, flexibility and
longevity.

Psychological practices and techniques are based on spiritual principles. For example, the practices mentioned in the previous paragraph are based on the “great commandment”: love God, love yourself, love others. True meaning in life is found only within meaningful relationships. Therefore, therapy focuses on understanding past relationships, empowering and supporting current relationships and providing the tools necessary to build healthy relationships in the
future.
Students at Bachman Academy are in need in many ways. It is our goal to support the efforts of the other departments on campus in teaching love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness and self-control. Because we all work together for this one goal, we have been and will continue to be
successful.
