Chuck Hurd, Middle School History

Chuck Hurd is the Middle School History teacher at Bachman Academy. He received his Bachelor of Science in Secondary Social Science from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a double concentration in history and economics.

Prior to coming to Bachman, he worked with special needs youth as a vocational case manager for Goodwill Industries. Chuck chose to work at Bachman because he loves to serve in a Christian environment and has a gift for working with students who have learning difficulties.

Chuck has a special interest in studying snakes, specifically the Southeastern Pit-Viper, and educating others about them. He worked for a while as the reptile curator of the Chattanooga Nature Center.
