Kurt Henkel, Dorm Counselor -All Dorms

Kurt Henkel works as a Bachman Academy dorm counselor. Prior to moving to Cleveland, he lived in Atlanta for 20 years where he worked in the credit field.

He is currently enrolled in Cleveland State Community College working towards a Bachelors degree in Social Work. Kurt loves to be a part of Bachman because “the academy does so much good for the kids and the community.”

Kurt was born in Munich Germany. Growing up in a military family as a self-proclaimed army brat, he has lived all over the world. By the age of 12 he had seen most of Europe, and by 21 he had visited 14 countries!

Kurt moved to Cleveland, Tennessee, when he met his wife, Tammy, who is the Bachman Academy history teacher. Kurt and his wife are members of a medieval re-enactment group, through which Kurt has had the opportunity to learn swordsmanship. Currently, he is leading a fencing club at Bachman. Kurt and Tammy have one daughter, Caitrin.
