Bachman Academy is a boarding and day school for students in grades 6‐12 (ages 11‐21) who have had a psychological evaluation within the last three years showing a diagnosis of language‐based neurological disorders, like Dyslexia, or a diagnosis of attention disorders, such as AD/HD.
Bachman Academy provides a language‐rich program of study emphasizing active learning. In addition to college preparatory academics, the academy offers career education in auto mechanics, woodworking, and horticulture/agriculture. Bachman Academy's mission is to empower students who have learning differences to develop the skills and values necessary for success in our global community.
Bachman Academy is located in Cleveland, a city of about 43, 000 people in east Tennessee. The academy is about thirty miles northeast of Chattanooga (metro population of more than 500,000 people). The climate is moderate, with average temperatures ranging between 29 degrees Fahrenheit in winter to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in summer.
